What it measures

  • Total Iron Binding Capacity (TIBC) — reflects the amount of iron that can be bound by transferrin in the blood
  • Iron — measures the level of circulating iron in the blood
  • Transferrin Saturation — calculated from iron and TIBC, indicates the percentage of transferrin bound with iron

What the test involves
